- Courtney, a senior at Othello High, won her third Class 2A javelin title and holds the state record (160' 10"). She also won the 100 hurdles this spring (14.79) and last year's long jump (16' 10"). She is a two-time Gatorade state track and field athlete of the year.

- Austin a senior at Franklin High, never lost a match in his high school career, going 64-0 as a Lion. He won four Class 2A singles championships and is only the fourth Texan to win that many boys' titles. He is the state's fifth-ranked player.

- Baseball
- Philip, a senior catcher at Cooperstown High, is batting .446 and has four home runs, 23 RBIs and 29 stolen bases; he is Gatorade's state player of the year. In 2007 he was the Class C player of the year (.473, five HRs, 39 RBIs, 41 steals).

- Brandon, a senior at DeLand High, won his second Class 2A weightlifting title. He bench-pressed 420 pounds and clean-and-jerked 305 to win the 199-pound class; last year he won at 183 pounds with a 370 bench press and a 300 clean and jerk.

- Lamar Consolidated, Rosenberg, TX
- Football and Track
- Jaquizz, a senior running back and sprinter at Lamar Consolidated, set the state record for career touchdowns (136) and last fall ran for 2,902 yards and scored 43TDs; he was a Parade All-American. He also won the District 24-4A title in the 200 meters.

- Basketball
- Tarik, a junior guard at Paint Branch High and Gatorade's girls' player of the year in Maryland, averaged 21.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.8 steals to lead the Panthers to a Class 3A title and a 25-0 season, with an average victory margin of 29.5 points.

- Abby, a senior forward at St. Mary's High, Is the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association's all time leading scorer (girls or boys) with 358 points (179 goals, 179 assists). She had 42 goals and 48 assists this year to lead the Spartans to the Division 1 title.

- Jessica, a junior at Wayne Valley High, Had a 28-3 record and won the New Jersey title in girl's saber. A two-time Passaic County champion, she has 87 career wins and took seventh place in the Cadet World Cup in Poland last year.
