Michala, a senior at Kearney High, set a world record for high school juniors and seniors in the 198-pound class in the squat (297 pounds) and national records in the bench press (127) and deadlift (352), leading the Lady Bulldogs to the national title.
Samuel, a freshman at Shiloh Christian, was the MVP at the National Underclassmen Combine. He also benchpressed 405 pounds, an age-group (14) world record. He did eight more reps than anyone else at the Takkle.com Bench Press Battle, lifting 185 pounds 48 times.
Caroline, a senior midfielder at St. Mary's High, was named to the all-tournament team at the elite Womenslacrosse.com National Draw event. She led the Saints with 54 goals and 18 assists; she also caused 26 turnovers and won 63 ground balls.
Dave, a recent graduate of Algonquin Regional High, hit homers in each of his four at bats and drove in seven runs in a 9-2 win over Leominster. He batted .508 with 27 RBIs for the year. As a kicker, he converted 50 of 51 career extra points and 18 of 24 field goals.
Spencer, a recent graduate of Bryant High, is the nation's best high school pole vaulter. He had the top four outdoor vaults this year, including a personal best of 17'9", the fourth-highest high school vault of all time. He will attend the University of Arkansas.
Tony, a junior at Milton High, is a three-time All-Susquehanna Valley shortstop and a career .505 hitter (.576 this year). As a starting forward he averaged 21.5 points last season (he has 1,675 for his career) and was the Class AAA player of the year.
Tony, a senior attacker at East Chapel Hill High, scored 56 goals and had 52 assists for the Wildcats, the second straight season he had at least 100 points. The Maryland-bound, two-time All-America led his team to two North Carolina championships.
Kip, a junior attacker for the Blake School, was named an All-America for the second time and all-state player for the third time. The only sophomore on last year's U.S. Lacrosse All-America team, he had 28 goals with 39 assists that season and 34 goals and 31 assists this year.
Trey, a senior at Westbrook Christian, set a state record by striking out 21 of 22 batters in a seven-inning no-hitter. The southpaw is 9-0 with a 0.37 ERA and 159 strikeouts in 76 1/3 innings. He was named a top 10 prospect at the Under Armour All-America Tournament.
Tyron, a senior at Cedar Hill High, broke the Texas record in the triple jump with a leap of 51' 81/2" at the Region 1-5A meet. It is the second-longest jump in the nation this year. The Texas A&M signee also won the triple jump at the state championship.
