I'm trying to add a few yards to my drive..anyone have any tips
Hey whats going on?? I'm looking to add yards to my drives, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a driver and thought there could be some way to train or do something to my swing to add some yards...any advice would be great! Thx

First off, move the ball forward in your stance, so you can hit it on the upswing. On the backswing just remember one thing: low and slow. Keep the club as low as you can, as long as you can. Make sure your driver stops about parallel to the ground. Make a smooth transition from backswing to downswing. After impact shoot your club down the line, or to your target. Have a good finish with good balance. You should end up with your belt buckle pointing at your target and your right shoulder directly below the bill of your cap. Good Luck!!!!!

dude, i am only 16, 145 lbs, but i average 280 with my driver. my secret, is all in my backswing. i try as best i can to keep it very smoothe. no quickness, just a soft smoothe trip to the top. once i get to that position, i fire after the ball, starting at the shoulder, and i let go. just let your downswing create the speed, and let your backswing put you into good position.

I gained about 20 yards when my coach told me to do this little drill inbetween shots... hold your club with your grip straight out in front of you (parallel to the ground). With arms straight out in front of you, only move your wrists bring it straight up perpendicular to the ground. From there, tilt it to the right and bring it back down around to where you started, but with like, a whip to it. Don't go past straight out from your body tho, or you'll start hitting a hook. This strenghthens your wrists and gets that whip feeling at impact in your swing.

Hey man...the thing you really need to work on is playing a draw... A draw will consistanly "float" more in the air i believe and will roll alot further...thats why most of the tour pros you see today use it as the cut is used primarly to be more of a spinning shot and you do not want to spin a shot off the drive. What i do in my swing is in the preparation also, slow everything down so when you get up to the tee your not just ready to give it hell. I think the slower your backswing and the further you take it back you are going to generate alot more speed and you will be able to control your clubhead alot more and i agree with the other ppl about weight training. You dont need to be a jacked mo fo to hit the ball along ways either. you just need the basic rules of golf and a good swing. Dont let anyone tell you how to swing a club. Whatever feels natural to you is the way you should swing and just work on it and i garuntee you will see results. Thanks

Start by working out. Do as much ab work as you can in lots of different ways. Also work out your quads and gluts because thats where a lot of your power comes from. Then on the course keep your hands loose maybe slow down your backswing and keep your lower body quiet. Doing all this has put me consistinantly 295 to 305 of the tee.

Work out. I gained 30 yards off the tee by taking a weight training class at my scohol.

what I do is pretty simple just tee the ball higher maybe 1/4 inch higher then usual have a wider stance a bit wider then shoulder width. and one more key thing is to coil up on your back swing, what i mean by that is to turn your hips to the point it locks into place. from there on just swing hard and then you will automatically keep the 90 degree angle that is from your forearm to the club until the release of the club at impact.

try this drill. start with your feet together, swing back and stop, take a step forward and shift your weight to your front foot and continue to swing all the way through. it will help you get your weight shifted so that you get extra yardage on all of your shots but it first shows up on the tee, it also helps with timing. if you do it for just 10 minutes a day it will help

well for once thing, check your stance to make sure your knees arent locked, left arms is straight (if you're right handed), etc. and when you swing you should move your hips, then your upper body. and swing on through! :D
