making varsity?
Im gonna be a junior in the fall and ive been playing softball for my school freshman and sophmore years on the JV team. Next year I really wanna make it to varsity but I dont think im good enough. The assistant coach on varsity has been watching me play since i was in 6th grade and he tells the jv coach to put me in but since he's never at our games she doesn't so i get no playing time. does anyone have any good workouts or tips to improve my game? i can hit pretty well because i practice alot. I just need practice in the field and on the simple things that i cant seem to get. if anyone can help me i would appreciate it so much and i might eb able to help you with something.

yeah. all you need to do is hustle everywhere you go. A coach always loves a girl that can hustle. The second thing you need to show your coach is you have a good heart and you will go where ever she/he puts you. They love that. For batting you say you have that covered so i would not work on that so much but keep at it. for fielding i would always get my family and friends to hit line drives to me and make me dive and get dirty so in a game i was ready. just keep working on your fielding. a good drill is one where you get down on one knee and someone hits baby line drives in each corner of where you are kneeling down at. then when they hit it which ever way it goes thats where you dive or drop to get it. so in a game you will know when they hit to you line drive like that then you are use to diving and getting the ball at all cost. if you would like to know more or would like to talk to me then just ask. i am here. good luck i hope you do great!!

I was crushed when i was a freshmen and i did not make varsity. my other two freshmen friends did. so over the summer and last season on jv i kicked my butt into gir and i got better and tougher and this year i am a sophmore on VARSITY BABY!!! [third base] [ i catch for jv sometimes too]

well.. dont just work on your hitting! work on your fielding and have someone throw a ball at you to make difficult plays! it will be impressive when it comes to real practice then when you do it in games it will show u care!

you have to practice all the time. even when you really really REALLY don't want to. it'll be worth it. good luck!

I never had a hitting coach persay.. I strictly practiced everything on my own with tons off effort and time. The best hitting drills are on tees to get all your mechanics strong. Ive been a starter on varsity since my freshman year and Ive been hitting 3 hole ever since. A great way to get ahead of every one else is to play travel or club ball for the extra practice and time. You can tell who plays in the offseasons and who doesnt when it comes down to it.. Anything else just let me know

First off you really need to find a good reliable hitting coach in your area.... my hitting original hitting coach is who started it all for me. I started playing softball my frosh year of hs. frosh an part of soph year I was on JV and the rest v starter. Before you can practice you need to know what you need to improve on.... I have drills you can do, just msg me if your interested and I'll throw some your way... but you need to want it... are you on a offseason/club/travel ball team? that makes a difference too... msg me let me know

train in the offseason. believe me a lot of athletes don't do that but it does help improve performance if you have the right program to follow. you can go to a sports training place and do a session specifically designed to help with the skills required in softball. i did it and it does help. also if you want it bad enough and you really practice a lot you'll make it. just show tht you have what it takes and you're willing to put in extra effort. make sure you work on all aspects of the game hitting fielding running everything its the only way to really become a great player. hope this helps
