thats why i do tons of runouts before my race, a few 50m sprints get your heart pumping, and your legs loose. ideally your heart is supposed to be beating pretty fast at the start so your body is already in anaerobic state instead of having your body make the switch between aerobic and anaerobic. usually that transition is the "wall" people hit.

man how do you guys pick track over crosscountry track its so hard to stay loose while running and stuff like that in xc i could stride out and loosen my legs up on hills and stuff but track its the same stride and normally cold where im at so my legs just tense up and my stride shortens up

Caleb Posted: Apr 17, 2008 at 10:28 PM EDT

try and stride out a lil more and dont bring ur knees up as high

if i have a problem when i run, my xc and track coaches and captains tell me that i bounce when i run, how do i fix that? and they tell me that i lope when i run, is there any way to fix that?

nah, i like track more. although cross country is more fun, you get much better times in track. and more endurance/speed days. 20 400's with a 90 second break and 4 min break between sets of 10. yummy.
